This is a gaming router in an unrealistically cool gamer’s case and with impressive features.

To be honest, it’s hard to imagine something more powerful than the TP-Link Archer C5400X. The fact that this router is powered by a quad-core, 64-bit processor with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz speaks volumes. On top of that, it still has 3 co-processors and 1GB of RAM. And it looks like a spaceship, or a mutant spider from some game. Especially if you turn it upside down with the antennas.

In terms of hardware, there are no questions at all. It is very powerful. The performance is enough not only for online gaming, but also for watching 4K videos, downloading big games in Steam, or in the store of your game console. Moreover, if someone will watch videos or download files while you are playing, it should not affect the ping and stability of the connection. Because besides powerful hardware, Archer C5400X has a feature that allows it to detect gaming traffic and provide maximum speed and performance for it.

This is a tri-band router, which only at 2.4 GHz can provide speeds of up to 1000 Mbps. And up to 2167 Mbps on each of the two bands at 5 GHz. By idea, you could use one band exclusively for gaming. The antennas are not screwed on, but simply inserted into the connector. They hold very securely. Connect the antennas and we get this handsome fellow.

The case is made of black plastic. It is matte, but there are also glossy elements. The antennas are black with red. The router looks very cool and gamer-like. The design, quality of materials and assembly are top-notch. At the bottom there are rubber feet and holes to hang the router on the wall. But it is not very clear what to do with the antennas, because they are not foldable.

At the top there is the company logo. It is also an indicator. It can shine or flash white, red, or orange. In the manual there is information about the modes of operation of the indicator. By the way, it can be disabled by a separate button on the router body. But I don’t understand why. It is not bright and looks very beautiful.

On the front, under the antenna you can find three buttons: WPS, On/Off Wi-Fi and the button that disables the indicator, which is on the photo above.

On the side there are 2 USB ports.

At the back there are all 8 LAN ports, 1 WAN, RESET button, Power On/Off and a Power connector (for the power adapter).

TP-Link Archer C5400X will not only create a fast and stable network, but also become a real decoration on your desk. Next to your gaming computer, keyboard, mouse and other gaming accessories.
