TP-Link Archer C1200: Review, Characteristics

In this article, we will get to know the TP-Link Archer C1200 router. If you are choosing a new, powerful, modern router for home, or a small office, then this article is likely to be useful to you. Below I will talk about the main characteristics, features, and make a small review. Also, I will leave my review of TP-Link Archer C1200. Well, and you leave your reviews in the comments if you already use this router.
When I write about some router, I try to assign some “status” to each model. For example: “the most affordable router with a USB port”, and something like that. This “status” of the device is always formed in the process of getting acquainted with the router itself, while studying its characteristics, settings, etc. So, it seems to me that TP-Link Archer C1200 is an optimal variant of a modern router, which you can safely buy. And this router will be relevant for 2-3 years. And maybe even more. In the article with tips on choosing a router, I advised you to buy a router with at least 1 USB-port, and support for IEEE 802.11ac (wi-fi 5GHz). Of course, if there is such an opportunity, and is not the task to maximize savings, and buy the cheapest router. In the budget option will be neither USB-port, nor support IEEE 802.11ac.
Yes, there are routers twice as cheap as TP-Link Archer C1200. The same Tp-Link Archer C20i, Xiaomi mini Wi-Fi router (here, however, the control panel is a mess), and other models from other manufacturers. Although they have weaker characteristics, they are very similar. But why is it so? In simple terms, it’s about the power of the router itself. In its hardware part. After all, it’s not enough to simply provide support for the new IEEE 802.11ac standard, you need everything to work stably. And when connecting a large number of devices, the router was able to hold them, and not “hang”, as it is mostly done inexpensive models. When you have to constantly reboot the router.
Yes, if you have a couple of smartphones and a computer, you can save money and take a cheaper router. But if you play online games, have a Smart TV, game consoles, and many different devices, then it is better not to save money. This applies not only to routers from TP-Link, but also devices from other manufacturers.

TP-Link Archer C1200 review
We have already reviewed a router in a similar case: TP-LINK Archer C7, TP-Link TL-WR942N.
The router is made of black plastic. It is glossy, which means that it collects fingerprints very well. And scratches on it are clearly visible. For some smartphone, of course, this is a big disadvantage. For a router, it is a trifle.
On the front panel there are indicators (which, by the way, can be disabled in the control panel), the inscription “AC 1200”, and the logo of TP-Link.
All ports and buttons are located at the back. Everything is standard: 4 LAN, 1 WAN, and 1 USB-port. Power adapter connector, On/Off button, Reset button recessed in the case, and WPS button, which is combined with the function of disabling Wi-Fi network.
The package is standard: router, power adapter, network cable, instructions.
As I wrote above, the antennas are non-removable. They are of course foldable. It is possible to hang the router on the wall. But there are no rubber feet.
Reviews of TP-Link Archer C1200
The router is new, and there are very few reviews so far. So all hope is on you. If you already use this router, then leave your review about TP-Link Archer C1200 in the comments.
I didn’t notice any problems with the router at all. True, I don’t have much experience in using this model. A normal review can be written about a month after the purchase. When you have already tested the router in operation, with different tasks and devices. And so, this is rather not a review, but my first impressions of the device. And my impressions are positive.
Good characteristics, beautiful case, clear control panel. From the minuses, personally for me, it is the lack of rubber feet, well, and USB-port I would like a standard 3.0. And even better, 2 USB ports 🙂
