How to Reset the Settings on the Totolink Router?

Hi! I decided to prepare a small instruction, in which I will tell you, and of course show you on the photo, how to do a reset on the router Totolink. I mean to return to the factory default settings of the router. This thing is useful, and can save you from a lot of confusing problems in the process of setting up and using the router.

Why do you need factory reset on your router? For example, you started to configure the router, set some parameters, and you did not succeed. So that the old settings do not interfere with us, we restore the factory settings on our router Totolink, and try to configure again. It is also advised to reset the parameters when you change Internet providers. Then it will be easier to configure the router to work with the new provider. Well, and if your router stopped working, or does not work as before, you can always restore the settings, and customize it again.

As for Totolink routers specifically, the process of resetting the settings is practically no different from routers from other manufacturers. Find the “RST” (Reset) button, press it, and hold it for about 5 seconds. The router will be rebooted, and the settings will be restored to factory defaults. You can also do a software reset, through the control panel of the router.

Restoring factory settings on the Totolink router

The first and easiest option is to use a special button on the router itself. On my Totolink N150RT, this button is located on the back panel, and is signed as “RST-WPS”. This means that it is combined with the activation of the WPS function. Pressing the button activates WPS, and if you press and hold it for about 5 seconds, it will reset the settings. Of course, the router must be turned on.

Press, hold, and look at the indicators. When all the indicators start blinking actively, you can release the button.

Program reset through the control panel

First you need to go into the router settings. Connect to it and go to 192.168.1.1 in the browser. If you don’t know how to do it, see the separate instruction: /totolink/how-to-go-to-the-totolink-router-settings-on-the-example-of-the-totolink-n150rt-model/.

If your settings are in English, then click on “Advanced Setup”, and change the control panel language as shown in the screenshot below.
