Xiaomi Notebook Pro often disconnects from the home Wi-Fi network

Hello, I have a similar problem as in this topic /voprosy-otvety/why-does-the-xiaomi-notebook-pro-laptop-cease-to-see-a-wi-fi-network/, but the problem is that the laptop sees all Wi-Fi networks and works without problems when connected to a mobile wi-fi access point. But when it comes to the home router (router), things turn out to be very bad: the connection is often dropped and the message “The default gateway is not available” appears during troubleshooting.

I did everything according to your instructions with power saving and other settings – still it disappears. Installed the latest drivers – also 0 result. Other devices connected to the router work stably.

In the end I can not understand what the problem is: in the router or in the laptop. Thank you.

Answer

Hello. The problem is ambiguous. It would be good if you could describe in more detail how exactly and at what moments the connection to your home Wi-Fi network “drops” on your Xiaomi NoteBook Pro. Have you tested the Wi-Fi performance when connected to another router (not the phone) for a long time?

I recommend you to try to set static IP and DNS addresses (including gateway) in the properties of the wireless connection, for IPv4 protocol. I showed you how to do this in the article How to specify an IP address in Windows 7. However, as you have already realized, this is using Windows 7 as an example. But in Windows 10 everything is pretty much the same.

Try it. If it doesn’t work, write in the comments. Maybe you will remember some more useful information about the problem.
