WiFi signal is strong, and the speed is low (via ASUS RT-AC51U on the Dell computer)

Computer new DELL, Windows 10, Router new ASUS RT-AC51U.

The router is 2 meters away from the computer. 2.4 GHz, Mode N only, 20/40 MHz, channel Avto (13) signal is strong (-26 dBm), on the working channel signals of other routers are weak, or even not at all, and the speed is low (download 1.1 Mb/s, upload 1.4 Mb/s), dips. At 5GHz (-50 dBm) a little better, but still the speed above 4 Mb / s (download) does not rise, but the signal is weaker and already from the next room speed is lower. All games with router settings have no effect.

At the input speed of 100 Mbps and the provider does not recognize any claims. What is the matter? Is it possible to increase the speed? Unfortunately I can’t send screenshots as the Word file can’t be transferred.

Response

Why do you need to send screenshots in a Word file? They are just pictures and could have been added. You can attach screenshots in the comments.

Such a low Wi-Fi network speed is not normal. ASUS RT-AC51U is a normal router and can definitely squeeze out more.

Clarify a few very important points in the comments:

  1. How did you measure the speed?
  2. What is the speed when connecting the cable directly to the computer? Without a router?
  3. What is the speed from ASUS RT-AC51U on the network cable?
  4. And what is the speed on Wi-Fi on other devices (phones, tablets, other computers)?
  5. I understand that you have a PC. Is the Wi-Fi adapter built-in or USB?

This is very important information that we can’t figure out without. I’m waiting for an answer.
