WiFi home network does not work on the laptop

Good afternoon.

The problem is as follows: I connect to a Wi-Fi network on my laptop, it connects, but with limited access. Internet does not work, pages do not load. Sometimes the icon “Restricted” disappears, but the Internet does not work. And so periodically this icon appears and disappears.

Internet works on other devices when connected to this Wi-Fi network, so there should be no problems with the router. When I connect my laptop to other networks, the internet works. I’ve tried all the options described in the articles on the site, but nothing helped to solve the problem. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Please help me.

Good afternoon. It would be good if you could write down what Windows is installed on your laptop and what you have already tried to solve this problem. Recommendations from which articles you used. Did everything work before, or does your laptop not work with your home Wi-Fi network right after installing the router?

First, I recommend doing a network settings reset on your laptop. Here are the instructions for Windows 10: /solving-problems-and-errors/resetting-network-settings-in-windows-10/.

Next, enable compatibility mode with the Federal Information Processing Standard. I wrote about this in the article Connectivity is Limited in Windows 10 over Wi-Fi and Network Cable. There are other solutions there if you haven’t seen them yet.

Also write static DNS on your laptop: 8.8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4. I also showed you how to do this in the article at the link above.

Completely disable antivirus if it is installed.

You can also experiment with router settings. For example, change the mode of your home Wi-Fi network (b/g/n). Change the channel width. Region in the wi-fi settings. But that’s if you have access to the router settings and you know a little bit about it.

I’m in touch in the comments.
