Wi-Fi problem on the old Acer laptop after changing the provider
I tried to solve it myself – I reset network settings and dns settings on my laptop, deleted the point from the list of networks and reconnected, it didn’t help.
I also saw a version that on old laptops may not support 802.11n router mode, and I need to change it to 802.11b/g/n. I went into the router settings, but the mode is already set there.
Just in case I remind you that I had no problems with Wi-Fi on this laptop before I changed providers.
The laptop is Acer Aspire 5542, the router is Sercomm 6699.

Good afternoon. Did you install a new Sercomm 6699 router after changing your ISP? Or was it there before?
Connection with wi-fi is intermittently lost
How exactly does the connection to wi-fi disappear? How does the connection status change in the Windows tray? Or do you mean the wi-fi connection goes down and sites take a long time to load? Those are just two completely different problems.
The wi-fi module on your Acer Aspire 5542 laptop is of course outdated. It doesn’t support 802.11n, only 802.11b/g. Because of this, there may be problems when connecting to wi-fi. Especially if the router works in mixed mode and devices with n standard support are connected to it.
But if you have not changed the router, you have changed only the provider, then perhaps the problem is in DNS-servers. Although on the other hand, everything works on other devices.
Try to specify static DNS in the properties of the wireless connection on your laptop.
Check the speed of the Internet connection on your laptop.
