Wi-Fi on a laptop stopped working after a blue screen in Windows 10

Hello. Wi-Fi on my laptop stopped working (“No internet connection, protected”), although it works fine on other devices.

When entering the browser it says “Internet access is blocked. Connection may be blocked by firewall or antivirus program”, but antivirus and McAfee firewall are disabled. Resetting the network did not help, I set IPv4 settings to non-automatic, deleted network adapters and updated the hardware configuration, also to no avail. This occurred after the problem popped up (see photo).

Windows 10 blue screen and wi-fi problems

It was 100% complete, but the screen froze for a minute or two, decided to just turn off the laptop, and after turning on this is all. Windows 10.

Answer

Hello. I take it you have antivirus and also separately McAfee firewall? I would start by uninstalling the McAfee firewall. Then do a network reset, reboot the laptop.

If that doesn’t help, remove the antivirus. In any case, they can be reinstalled without problems.

IPv4 settings should be automatic. Get IP automatically.

Check the proxy settings.

Have you tried using another browser? The same error “Internet access is blocked. Connection may be blocked by firewall or antivirus program”? On all sites?

Can I see a screenshot of the error?
