Why does TP-Link TL-WR841N not work with the ADSL modem Huawei HG8245A?
With a similar connection to ADSL router Zyxel P660RU2EE – TP-Link LAN port to Zyxel LAN port by cable – without any additional settings everything works perfectly. The only difference in configuration when working with HG8245A is network addresses like 192.168.100.1 for HG8245A and 192.168.1.1 for Zyxel.
Turned on/off DHCP server, changed network connection settings (automatic IP and manual) does not help. In the table of connections HG8245A IP and MAC-addresses WR841N are not displayed, all other equipment is prescribed, even that which is not connected now (but previously connected) is listed in the table User device with the status online for connected (both via LAN and built-in Wi-Fi HG8245A).
Can you tell me what else I can try to change in the settings of these devices? For some reason the laptop with Windows 7 also perceives two connections (LAN and Wi-Fi) as different networks, but when working with Zyxel both connections are displayed in the same network with the same gateway.
Really hoping for help – can’t find any further information on this issue.
Thanks!

Good afternoon. I couldn’t understand a lot of important points from your description.
I don’t really understand why you connect the network cable on TP-Link TL-WR841N to the LAN port. You can do it in the trailer too, then TL-WR841N will be an access point. But in your scheme it is better to connect the router with Huawei HG8245A modem from LAN to WAN. Maybe everything will work at once and the problem will be solved.
On TP-Link TL-WR841N I recommend you to do a factory reset. And don’t change anything else in its settings, connect the cable from the modem to the WAN port at once. If Huawei HG8245A is configured correctly, if it distributes IP addresses automatically, everything will work.
Or the second option: in the settings of the TL-WR841N router (in the “Network” – “LAN” section) change its IP-address to 192.168.100.50 (for example), and in the “DHCP” section disable the DHCP-server. Save the settings, reboot the router and connect it to the modem using the LAN-LAN scheme.
In general, the scheme is very simple. And everything should work without any problems. Provided that there are no special settings on the Huawei HG8245A modem.
