Why did the Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz signal become very weak from the router?

Good afternoon. I have the following question. I have a dual-band router. Just two days ago, both frequencies were giving out a good signal. 2 days ago, in the area of the router climbed a cat. It seems that after that moment the signal of 2.4 Hz became very weak.

Literally go away from the router more than 4-5 meters and everything, the signal is gone. At the same time 5 ghz is fully intact and works the same way, without any problems. Is it possible that the cat moved/switched/damaged something, or is it some kind of coincidence and the problem should not be looked for? Is it even possible to affect the signal being given out in any way, just by moving something on the router?

Thank you very much in advance for your attention and for a possible answer.

Good afternoon. It’s a pity that you didn’t even specify the model of the router. If it has removable antennas, check if they are screwed on well. The cat certainly could not have switched, disabled or damaged something on the router, which would make the signal in the 2.4 GHz band so weak.

Try simply rebooting the router (power off and on).

A very important point is to check on different devices. Maybe the problem is not in the router after all.
