United Wi-Fi Mesh System on the street (outer) and in the house

Hello, everywhere on the Internet write about creating a Mesh system in the house, and about the street is silent. But if a person lives in a country house and has a large yard, then he needs a connection on the street. You can say that will catch the mobile Internet, but this is not always the case, I have in the village happiness E catch, so there is no way with this.

So I ask you, please find an inexpensive good unified both for the street and home Wi-Fi Mesh system. Because I searched, found TP-Link Omada, but it is expensive and not worth it, maybe you know something else? I can tell you the area of the plot and house if you need.

Answer

Hi. Good question. I would like to clarify about TP-Link Omada. This is not a Mesh system, it is a whole line of access points (including outdoor) business class. That is, these devices were designed to be used in hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, etc.

I have now searched, looked, and did not find a single wi-fi Mesh system, not a single manufacturer, which would have outdoor modules that can be placed on the street. All have standard environmental requirements: 0°C to 40°C, humidity up to 90% percent (non-condensing). That is, a regular module of any Mesh system cannot be used outdoors. Perhaps with time, outdoor modules will appear. Or maybe there are already, but I have not found them. In principle, in our area, in the summertime, you can place the module Mesh system on the street, protecting it from moisture. Install somewhere under an awning, in a gazebo. But when the temperature drops to 0°C, it will have to be removed.

If you need to organize Wi-Fi network coverage on the street, near the house, then Wi-Fi Mesh systems have certain advantages here. Even without placing the Wi-Fi module on the street. It can be installed in the house, in the garage, in another room on the side of your yard. For example, if the main module is installed in the hallway, and there is no Wi-Fi network coverage outside, then the second module can be placed in the room that is closest to the yard. In this case, the street and the Mesh system module will be separated by only one wall. And the street should have normal wireless network coverage.

See how the Wi-Fi signal broadcasting is shown in the photo.

If we move the module closer to the wall, the signal coverage on the street will increase.

It goes without saying that by placing the Wi-Fi Mesh module on the street the signal would be better, but again, I haven’t seen such solutions yet.
