TP-Link router as a receiver (WDS)

I’m distributing Wi-Fi from Android to home devices. According to your article, I tried setting up the router to receive via Wi-Fi and transmit via cable. What addresses should I write when the “main router” is a cell phone?

Thanks in advance.

Answer

I once configured a TP-Link router in bridge mode by connecting it to a phone that was giving out wi-fi. Everything worked. There is no need to write any addresses (you can not even change the IP address, as I wrote in the article), we do everything according to the instructions: /tp-link/tp-link-router-setting-in-bridge-mode-wds-we-connect-two-wi-fi-routers/ No difference what access point: router, or phone.

Do a reset on your TP-Link router, go to settings, connect to your smartphone’s Wi-Fi network in WDS mode and disable the DHCP server. Internet over cable should work, and the TP-Link router will be like a receiver for your computer (or whatever it is). If there are problems, try not disabling the DHCP server. Although, if you don’t disable it, the Internet over cable won’t work.
