There is no connection to TP-Link WR842N and does not enter the web interface
And when I connect the Internet cable to the connector “Internet” on the router itself, the orange light bulb lights up and the Internet does not work. I can not go to the site settings router, writes that the device is not connected. Some kind of vicious circle turns out. Can you tell me what to do?
Answer
Why the settings were reset – it’s hard to say. Sometimes this happens. Most likely, it’s a problem in the hardware itself. There are cases when the router does not save the settings at all after power off.
The orange indicator on TP-LINK WR842N is lit for the reason that the router can not connect to the Internet. This is understandable, because the settings have been reset. Now you need to re-set all the parameters for connecting to the Internet in the WAN section of the router’s web-interface. I wrote about this problem in the article: why the Internet indicator on the TP-Link router is lit orange.
Why does not go into the settings TP-LINK WR842N? There could be many possibilities. You wrote:

Where does it write? When? From what device do you enter the settings? How is it connected to the router? And there are a lot of similar questions.
I have never seen such messages. Maybe the browser says that there is no internet connection or the page cannot be displayed.
- Have you tried going to 192.168.1.1 and 168.168.0.1? There may also be a tplinkwi-fi.net address (see here for more information).
- Check if your computer (or whatever it is) is connected to the TP-LINK WR842N and only to it.
- Try accessing the IP address (which is listed on the bottom of the router) through a different browser.
- Do a manual reset of the TP-LINK WR842N. Using the Reset button.
- Disable antivirus for a while.
- Check IP settings on your computer. There should be automatic address acquisition. Or do a network reset in Windows.
- More solutions in the article: no connection and access on 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1.
It is possible that the router is broken. Are the LEDs lit/blinking as usual? Of course, except for the orange WAN.
