The TP-Link TL-MR3420 router stops working after connecting the Nexus Player prefix
TP-LINK TL-MR3420 router has the latest version of official software installed, Windows 7 is installed on my PC. The load on the router is about 5-7 devices. Before I bought Nexus Player, the router worked stably, while LG 2013 TV with smart TV connected via Wi-Fi works stably, though slowly (the TV could disconnect from wi-fi, but not vice versa, i.e. the router did not stop working). Now the set-top box is connected to this TV.
Usually the router stops giving out internet in 5-10 minutes after starting YouTube on the set-top box, rarely it can work for 2-3 hours before the internet is cut off. The internet is also not distributed via cable, but after rebooting it starts working.
Reset to factory settings did not help.
Please help. Thank you in advance.
Answer
Hello. It is very difficult to give any specific answer. But I think it’s because of the load. When the internet goes down on your Nexus Player, does it also go down on other devices?
Try disconnecting all devices from the router, and start watching YouTube videos.
Just the fact that the router hangs after watching a video and restarts only after a reboot indicates that the TP-LINK TL-MR3420 is probably not keeping up with the load.
It would be good to test Nexus Player with another router.
