Strange Wi-Fi Repeater Work
I’m trying to extend the Wi-Fi network in my apartment with a repeater.
I have ZyXEL VMG1312-B and none of three different repeaters (nameless Chinese, ASUS RP-AC53, ZyXEL WRE2206) does not work with it.
External devices see the network of the repeater and connect, but Internet traffic does not go. Some gadgets get stuck at the stage of receiving IP, some receive it, but do not respond further.
The strangest effect is with ZyXEL WRE2206 repeater. Only one laptom works and connects only to youtube.com. No other URLs are not responded to.
When connecting directly to the router’s Wi-Fi network, no problems are observed.
I would be glad for ideas.
Thanks!

Hi. Sorry for the slight delay in replying. The problem is really strange.
If you have three repeaters and none of them gives out internet from ZyXEL VMG1312-B, then I’m almost sure that the problem is in the router itself. It would be a good idea to test the repeaters with a different Wi-Fi network, of course.
It seems to me that the router may have some non-standard settings. For example, MAC address blocking is set, or something else. If it is not difficult for you, do a full reset of ZyXEL VMG1312-B and set it up again. Set only the basic settings: internet connection, wi-fi, password (WPA2-PSK security type). And try reconnecting the repeater. On the repeater also do a reset.
I don’t see any other options.
