Slow file downloading with good Internet
Hello, I have such a problem. Let’s say I download something in the browser, the download speed is 2-3 Mbit/sec (in rare cases comes up to 12). I go into the game and the speed increases sharply to 40-70 Mbit/sec. Also there are no problems when watching videos in Youtube, or when loading pages. Only when downloading files. I tried to reset network settings, change browser, but nothing helps.
Windows firewall is turned off, otherwise the modem refuses to give good speed with it. Everything was fine before, also returned PC to restore point when everything was still fine, but it didn’t help either.
Hello. There are some important and not very clear points in your situation.
- In browsers, when downloading files, the speed is usually listed in Mbps. A download speed of 3 Mbps is about 30 Mbps.
- How and where do you look at the speed in the game? The speed of what? Is it exactly listed there in Mbps? If it is the speed of downloading files, then it is hardly specified in Mbps.
- It is best to check the speed in Mbps using these instructions.
- The download speed is highly dependent on the server from which the file is downloaded. This speed can be limited manually, or depending on the load on the server.
- You have internet via cellular network (via 4g modem). Such connection, as a rule, gives very unstable speed. The speed can fall and rise a lot.
You can take this modem, connect to another computer and check the speed of downloading files.
If anything, I’m in touch in the comments below.
