Router ZXHN F660V2.3: devices for Wi-Fi and Ethernet do not see each other on the network

I have a GPON connection, ZXHN F660V2.3 router. Windows 7 on my laptop and PC.

Devices via wi-fi and twisted pair work fine, but they see each other only if both are connected to the router with cables, or both work via wi-fi.

Can you please tell me if this is normal? Both devices are in the same subnet (addresses 192.168.1.4 and 192.168.1.5), both can access the router’s web-interface at 192.168.1.1. What should be checked and what settings should be changed so that, say, a laptop could communicate with a computer not only via twisted pair, but also via Wi-Fi (while the computer will remain connected to the router via cable).

Response

As many times as I have set up the network, and even now at home, all devices see each other. When connected via network cable and wi-fi. There is no difference, because all devices are on the same subnet. And it doesn’t matter how they are connected, by wi-fi or LAN. Have you tried pinging computers that are connected in different ways? I wonder how the ping would go from a laptop that is connected via wi-fi to a computer that is connected via cable.

Also, it seems to me that an installed antivirus, or the default network settings in Windows could be to blame. I would disable antivirus (if you have it), and disable the built-in firewall. Also, go into the Network and Sharing Center, and see if your network is set to “Home Network”.

Computers connected via Wi-Fi and LAN do not see each other on the network

Only strange thing is why the computers see each other when both are connected via wi-fi. It’s a mystery.
