Router D-Link Dir-615 and Canon Printer. Wi-Fi connection problem

Hello, I bought a printer Canon pixma mx474 with the ability to connect to Wi-Fi, but the problem is that in order for it to connect to have to turn on and off several times either it or the router itself and only … knows from what time it will connect, in the router settings it is always displayed in the Wi-Fi tab – Client List, but in the DHCP status tab it appears only after several switches, the printer shows that it is connected to the network and without problems prints information about the network, but the laptop does not detect it in any way.

Answer

Hello. Ideally, there should be no problem.

Look at the IP settings. What IP is specified on the “Client List” tab (there seems to be an option to view it there). Also, print out the network details, it should show the IP address the printer got from the router.

I have no experience in setting up a Canon printer with a D-Link router over a Wi-Fi network, but I think the problem is getting the IP address from the router. Again, I don’t have access to the printer, I can’t tell you specifically, but maybe there is an option there to set static IP settings. Maybe then the connection problem will go away. If it is possible to set static IP settings, then on the router it will be possible to allocate this address for the printer (bind by MAC).

In the manual for your printer you will find a program called IJ Network Tool. This program allows you to change the printer’s network settings. And as far as I understand, you can set static IP settings there. You should try experimenting with this program.
