Power of the router from the power supply unit for rebooting when the Internet disappears
I’m interested in options how to power the router from the PC power supply instead of the standard one from a 220V outlet. TP-LINK TL-WR941ND router requires 9V – 0.6A power supply
The purpose of the idea: Windows pings the network for the presence of Internet on a schedule, if there is no Internet (router hangs) – Windows is reboooted (via .bat file). Accordingly, if the router is powered from PC, the router goes into rebooot together with Windows.

Or router from 220V and in case of absence of ping – running a script (from Windows to router), which will make the router restart, but this option does not work for me…. Either Windows, or the router, or the script is wrong….

Also interesting is the option of notification in case of internet failure by e-mail or sms, etc. But I think it will be complicated, because for e-mail the Internet has already failed, and for sms you need something special like gsm-module, etc.

I think it is real, but very difficult. There are also many nuances. For example, whether the power on the power supply is turned off when the computer is rebooted. Whether the router will be able to shut down, etc. I also think that the router will not work stably. This technique is very sensitive to power supply. You will have to make a converter that will give out strictly 9V – 0.6A. Like the power adapter of the router.
As for automatic rebooting of the router with the help of a script on the PC, I can not advise. No experience in this. And I’m not a programmer. I think a lot depends on the router firmware. Read, maybe on OpenWRT or DD-WRT firmware it is easier to do it with the help of a script. For example, on the request “DD WRT reboot script” – there is information.
Another option is to buy a special socket. There is one called ResetPlug. I wrote about it here. The router is connected through this socket, it pings the connection. If there is no Internet access, the router reboots. I think it’s already on sale. But the price is not small. You need to look on Chinese online stores, maybe there are analogs for cheap. The joke is actually very simple and in many cases useful.
