Hello. So here’s the problem, on the TL-WR740N router only the power indicator and the settings indicator are lit. There is no Internet, I used to solve this problem by disconnecting power to the computer, router and modem and then turning it on and everything worked. Then I got tired of it, decided to fix it read on the Internet decided to reset the settings went to the site of the router 192.168.0.1, reset the settings and on the router again lit up these two lights and the Internet is gone. Turning off the power does not help, tell me what to do?

Answer

Hello. There are many nuances that you have not described. But most likely, the router is “dead” and you will have to buy a new one.

What you can try:

  • Do a factory reset with the Reset button:
TP-Link TL-WR740N: Power LED and SYS LED are onTurn on the router, press the button and hold for about 10 seconds. All indicators should light up and go out. The router will reboot.
  • Try to enter TP-Link TL-WR740N settings at 192.168.0.1. If you succeed, you will need to reconfigure the router. You may find this instruction useful: how to configure TP-Link TL-WR740N? Setting up Wi-Fi and Internet.

When connecting cables to the WAN or LAN port, the LEDs do not light up?

If the “System” indicator (in the form of a gear) is constantly lit, not blinking, it is a system error in the router.

Unfortunately, as I wrote above, it is unlikely that you will be able to fix the router yourself. Unless you go to a workshop. But believe me, there is no point. The model is inexpensive.
