LEDE and TP-Link TL-WA701ND V1.1 firmware (PPPOE problem)

Good day, friends! I have a question about LEDE configuration. There is an access point TP-LINK TL-WA701ND V1.1, which does not know how to be a router to connect to the network PPPoE (Vodafone). For this I changed the firmware to LEDE, but here’s the catch.

When I change the Network – Interfaces – LAN – edit protocol from Static address to PPPoE in the Network – Interfaces – LAN – edit protocol from Static address to PPPoE, I stop responding to the web interface of the access point in the browser (and through the cable and through a pre-configured and tested wlan), ie after that I can not go into the interface to enter the login/password for PPPoE connection. Please tell me what to do. Thanks in advance.

Answer

Good day. I haven’t encountered LEDE firmware myself, especially on TP-LINK access points. And I don’t even know if TP-LINK TL-WA701ND can be used as a router after flashing it with LEDE. But since you’ve flashed it, you probably can.

It’s normal that after switching the connection to PPPoE in the access point settings, the cable connection is lost. TP-LINK TL-WA701ND has one LAN port, and after changing the settings it starts working as WAN.

But why there is no access via Wi-Fi is a mystery. I understand that before changing the settings to PPPoE you can access the Wi-Fi settings without any problems. Have you tried to connect the Internet to the access point at once and change all the settings via Wi-Fi? Maybe the firmware is unfinished or something else. Or maybe you just need to wait until the settings are saved.
