After installing the router, you need to configure it. For some reason you did not even write what kind of router you have. However, it is not important. The router must be configured to work with your internet provider. And on the laptop, the Internet most likely works because the cable was previously connected to the laptop. Also, it is good to connect some other device that would rule out the problem in the phone.
