I can’t configure DHCP mode in the Netis WF2780F router
The router is connected to the DSL modem of the provider via DHCP. (By the way, the WAN port indicator does not light up, if you plug in the LAN cable from the computer – it lights up).
The router itself works in Bridge mode and distributes internet via wi-fi. (Default) Settings see file WAN bridged.
At the same time on the LAN ports there is or is not Internet (I can not understand what affects). If in the Setup-add-Channel Mode: tab I choose DHCP, (save, see WAN DHCP file), and then go and configure DHCP (need a different network address) – disable bridged mode, enable DHCP – no internet anywhere.
But to get to the router settings menu again, the new address is already valid and I can access it from my computer. It is not clear why in the default configuration (see WAN bridged) there is a checkmark in the Port Mapping section against LAN_4. Maybe I have not set something in the DHCP configuration. The worst thing is that the manufacturer did not provide any information on advanced configuration. If you can tell me, I will be very grateful, because I have configured hundreds of routers myself, but I have not met with such an obscure one.
Answer
I have never configured Netis WF2780F. But the very scheme of connecting the router with DSL modem is very simple and always works without problems and usually without additional settings. Have you tried just resetting the Netis WF2780F, then plug the cable from the modem into one of the LAN ports (you can try different ones) and check if there is Internet access from other LANs and via wi-fi. Then plug the cable into the WAN port and check if the Internet is available. This is such a simple and primitive solution. I think everything should work.
By the way, the WAN port indicator does not light up, if you plug the LAN cable from the computer – it lights up
That’s strange. And if you connect a computer to the modem with the same cable (which is set to automatic parameters for obtaining IP), then the Internet immediately works? That is, the modem gives out the Internet without problems, IP-addresses?
Maybe in Bridge mode you need to connect the cable from the modem to the 4 LAN-port?
But it seems to me that you don’t need to configure Netis WF2780F in Bridge mode. I understand that this connection can be disconnected. Just configure it in DHCP (automatic IP acquisition from the modem). Have you tried checking all ports in the Port Mapping section?
Since I don’t know a specific solution to your question, I just gave my thoughts as a guess. If you have some information, if you manage to configure everything – write in comments.
