How to find out the local IP address of the router?
Hello. I got a job recently, there is such a case: ADSL router was connected to the switch through the ICS server, ICS was locked and suddenly crashed. How to find out the IP of the router? DHCP on it is not configured, in the entire network ~400 comps address is written statically.
The maximum that I could think of was to connect the router directly to the laptop and scan 192.168.0.0 – 192.168.255.255, but there was no result. I tried pinging, like broadcasting to 255.255.255.255.255.255, also did not help. Finally found the login password, reset and configured. But the problem does not give rest. Is it so difficult to find out the address of the node, except by brute force?
Answer
There is one way. After connecting the router to the computer, go to the “Network” tab, and there should be displayed the router itself.
Right-click on it, and select “View device web page”.
I think it should work.
