How to connect three routers (D-Link and ASUS) via Wi-Fi into one network?

The question is: I have three routers, can I connect them into one Wi-Fi network between each other and place them in different rooms so that everywhere has a good signal?
And how to do it?)

Available routers:

  • Asus RT-N13U SuperSpeed N Wireless Router
  • D-Link dir-620
  • Asus RT-N12 Wireless N Router.

Answer:

Hi. Theoretically you can, but you need to try. You probably have a large area of the house, maybe one router will be enough for you. It is not clear whether you need one Wi-Fi network (with one name and password), just amplified by other routers, or you need each router to give out its own wireless network (with different names and password). Also you didn’t write which router you have installed as the main router.

All right, I propose the following: D-Link dir-620 as the main router, to which the Internet will be connected. It would be good to put it in the center of your building (house, apartment). And Asus RT-N13U and Asus RT-N12 should be used for Wi-Fi signal amplification. Why ASUS? Because they have a special repeater mode, which is designed to strengthen the Wi-Fi network.

But there is one more point here. Perhaps you have Asus RT-N12 and Asus RT-N13U in an old modification (white case). This mode is configured a bit differently there. I know for sure that Asus RT-N13U has a mode switch and there is “repeater” there. I just had such a router. But I can’t tell you about Asus RT-N12. If there is no switch on the case, this mode can be switched on and configured in the router settings (through the browser).

Try it, write about the results.
