How to configure D-Link Dir 320 with D-Link DSL 2540U modem
Speaking about the router, it should be said that it has a non-standard firmware OPENWRT, which complicates the router configuration. The whole problem is that the router does not give out wi-fi. Please tell me how to solve this problem.
Answer
Hello. Your question is strange, to be honest. I don’t understand how you can change the connection type. The provider uses PPPoE, so you should choose this type of connection. Moreover, for IPoE you don’t need to specify login and password, but for PPPoE you must.
But here the question is different. Why do you need to configure the connection on the router. Did I understand correctly that you have a D-Link DIR 320 router connected to a D-Link DSL 2540U modem for wi-fi distribution? That is, the network cable from the LAN port of D-Link DSL 2540U is connected to the WAN port of D-Link DIR 320? In this case, the settings of connection to the provider should be set only on the ADSL modem. And in the router settings the connection type “Dynamic IP” (DHCP) should be set. You can do a reset on D-Link DIR 320. This type of connection is most often the default.
The router will automatically receive settings and therefore the Internet from the modem and distribute it over Wi-Fi and LAN. It remains only to configure the Wi-Fi network on the DIR 320.
True, maybe I misunderstood something and I’m wrong.
