Connecting a router as a repiter to another repiter
Need to extend the wi-fi signal. There is already 1 connected repeater to the main router. Could you please tell me if it is possible to connect the 3rd router as a repeater to the existing repeater (and if so, is the connection process different?)? (I am planning to buy a router for this purpose, will this purchase not be in vain?).
I searched the internet for a similar scheme, but for some reason everywhere the process is described only for 1 repeater. Thank you.
Answer
Good day. First I want to answer about buying a router to use it as a repeater. I think it is better to buy a repeater. Two repeaters do not always work stably, and with a router can be even more problems. The circuit is not very stable anyway. To give an answer whether everything will work well or not (stability of connection, speed, connection of devices) – in this case it is impossible.
I tested the scheme with connection of two repeaters. I wrote about it in the article: two repeaters in one Wi-Fi network. The only nuance is that the second repeater (or router) should be connected not to the main router, but to the previous repeater. It is written about it in the article.
When searching for available networks in the settings of the repeater (router) should be displayed two networks. Choose the network of the previous repeater. You can be guided by MAC-address or signal strength.
If you want to clarify something – write in the comments.
