Bugs Wi-Fi through different routers Tenda and TP-Link

Hello. At one point my Tenda N301 router started to give out internet badly: sites take a long time to open, speed is low. And it was confirmed on 4 devices: Aceg laptop, HTC and iPhone, and xBox. There was a feeling that the signal was breaking through, then again “glitches”, because periodically the Internet was “flying”. Checking the direct connection showed stable internet performance and the speed declared by the provider. There were attempts to change the channel from 1 to 13 and auto mode, analyzed channel occupancy through special software, the problem was not solved, changed the type of security. Nothing helped.

Further two routers TR-Link were configured and tested, the situation is similar: dead Internet, occasionally showing signs of life. Further, through the laptop form a wireless connection (the laptop now gives out wi-fi) and, oh wonder, all devices began to “fly” as before. I check: the laptop gives out internet on channel 11, good signal and stable operation. Please help to understand the issue.

Answer

Hi. More specific information about the problem itself would be nice. Is the problem just poor speed, or is it that the signal strength is dropping? You wrote that the wi-fi signal is “glitching”.

Also check:

  1. What is the speed when connected directly, and what is the speed through the router via wi-fi on different devices.
  2. Speed when connecting via cable from the router.

It is strange, of course, that after replacing the router with TP-Link the situation has not changed, and when distributing Wi-Fi from a laptop, everything works well and stable.

All this is very similar to the problem with interference. Maybe there is some source of interference near the router? When you changed the channel, did you save the settings and reboot the router?

Feel free to answer the questions in the comments. We will think further.
