Broadcast video from iPhone on Smart TV TV
Can you tell me what options exist for duplicating and broadcasting from iPhone to TV.
I want to find the most optimal way. Ideally I would like to fully see the phone screen on the TV and watch photos, movies via Youtube and browser in online mode, actually use my phone as usual on the big screen.
If it is impossible, then at least watch movies and Youtube at least in some way. I don’t want to buy Apple TV if there is a less expensive way. The first thing I read is that you need to download an application on the iPhone like iMediaShare and wirelessly select TV and use it. My phone does not see the TV.
In the TV settings wireless connection for mobile devices is enabled (if it is relevant to this question), there are no other hints in the TV settings.
Both devices are connected to a router. The TV and iPhone settings have different ip addresses (maybe that’s the reason too).
I also tried using the Youtube app, installed on both devices. But the phone does not find anything. And some stny code when setting manually on the TV does not appear. All in all, all in vain.
Help who knows what ways to solve the situation is possible, based on the need. How to make the least efficient duplication and broadcasting, less costly, while not suffering with the brakes of various applications and other things. I dug all over the Internet, but due to the fact that I do not understand what is DLNA, Miracast and other things that managed to read I can not without help to realize my question.
I will be very grateful if someone has time to convey to me the essence in simple language and give me time.
I will hope and wait for a reply.
Answer
Hi. Oksana, the answers to all your questions are in these two articles:
I’ll try to explain a little more. The thing is that iPhones and other Apple devices use a different technology (compared to Android devices) to duplicate the screen of a mobile device or computer to a TV screen. That technology is AirPlay. It is essentially a tax of Miracast technology. But compared to Miracast technology, which is supported in almost all Smart TVs, there is no built-in support for AirPlay in TVs.
The only normal way in which you can completely duplicate the screen from your iPhone to your TV is Apple TV. Essentially, this set-top box adds AirPlay support for the TV. There are still various MiraScreen and AnyCast adapters, but I’ve already checked from my experience that they are not good for stable screen duplication, much less video output. Maybe if you buy a more expensive adapter, everything will work better.
As for outputting video/music/photo from iPhone to TV via iMediaShare, or YouTube app – this works via DLNA technology. That is, in this case, full screen duplication is impossible. Only the output of some specific clip or photo. Well, or a video from the YouTube application. I wrote about it in detail in the first article at the link at the beginning of my answer.
You can hardly output video from a browser on an iPhone to a TV screen via DLNA. Everything should work in the YouTube app. It works for me. The TV is also on Android TV. But it’s a Phillips and the system there is newer.
The iPhone and TV should be connected to the same router. The internet should work on them. In the YouTube application on the iPhone by pressing the appropriate button the TV should appear. If it doesn’t work, it’s quite possible that your TV simply has this feature cut out. Or the Android TV system is already outdated. Maybe try updating your TV’s firmware. Basically, it doesn’t make much sense to output a Youtube video through your iPhone. It’s much easier to run that video directly in the app on the TV.
Conclusions: the best solution for outputting video from iPhone and streaming the screen to TV is Apple TV.
