An error is lost to connect with the server in online games through a router

Hello, two days ago some kind of malfunction started. I play games on my computer, on my phone and all over the wi-fi network. ZyXel router is connected to another computer, not the one from which I play. In general, the problem is that in all games I throw out with the inscription ”Lost connection with the server”. I do not know what to do! I go into the game Warface, passes a minute 2-4 and throws out. The network goes down for a few seconds and then comes back on. I can’t connect directly, because the connection is only to one computer, it just won’t reach the other one.

Three days ago everything was fine, help me to solve the problem with the router, maybe some settings need to do. Router ZyXel Keenetic Omni.

Answer

Hello. Let’s reason logically. If the error ”Lost connection to the server” appears in different online games, then the problem is not in any particular game. That leaves the computer and the router. Since the computer is not connected via cable, it is connected via wi-fi. Most likely through a USB Wi-Fi adapter (if it is a PC), which may be the cause of network disconnections. Especially since the online game is a decent load. Both on the receiver itself and on the router.

You need to look for the cause. Otherwise there is no way. You can temporarily connect this computer (on which the error in online games) to the router via cable. See if the error appears. You can run the same games on another computer. Or test this Wi-Fi receiver on another computer.

If the router is inexpensive (weak), or already a little “tired”, it can also be the cause of such short-term connection failures under load. And as I wrote above – online games give a good load on the router and adapter. But ZyXel Keenetic Omni is not the weakest router, it should cope with this load.

Exactly the same with the adapter. Ordinary, inexpensive models can simply not cope with the load. That’s why, in online games there is a connection breakdown. It could be due to interference, causing the Wi-Fi connection to be unstable.

Try to find out what the cause is. You can update the router firmware and the Wi-Fi adapter driver on your PC.
