After resetting the router settings, factory login/password (TP-LINK) is not suitable

I encountered a problem that my router began to glitch (sometimes disconnect the Internet, and after rebooting everything was normalized) well I decided to enter the router settings via IP <a /href=”192-168-1-1-1-8211-entrance-to-the-router-system-login-and-password-admin/”>192.168.1.1.1 after entering the login and password, the page reloaded and the “Authentication failed: invalid username or password” notification popped up.

I thought that when configuring the router master apparently changed the data and I had to reset the router, and yet after resetting still can not enter the settings because of that invalid username or password (used factory admin/admin). Please help!

Router: TP-Link WR740N, Windows 7.

Answer

First of all, I recommend to do a factory reset again according to the instructions and make sure that the reset happened. Did you change the Wi-Fi network name to the factory default one (SSID – listed at the bottom of the router)?

Did you buy TP-Link WR740N yourself, or was it provided by your ISP? On the sticker on the bottom of WR740N is the login/password: admin/admin? It happens that the router with installed firmware of the provider, and by default there is used a different login/password. You can check this information with your ISP support.

Try to enter the settings of your TP-Link router through another browser. Or better yet, through another device.

We have another article like this: admin password does not work on 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
