Setting up the settings on the netis router

There are often cases when you need to do a factory reset while configuring your router, or when you have some problems. Now we will consider two ways to reset Netis router settings. The first way – with the help of a special button on the body of the router. The second way – through the control panel.

After this procedure, the settings on the router will be restored to factory settings. Also all passwords will be reset: for Wi-Fi network, and the password that must be entered to enter the settings (if you set it). By the way, if you have forgotten the password that protects the router settings, you can’t do without resetting. And I always advise you to reset the router to factory settings before configuring it, so that the parameters that may have already been set do not interfere with the configuration process.

Netis: resetting settings and password with the button on the router

The easiest and most reliable way. Connect power to the router and turn it on. Find the Default button on the back (usually) of the device, it is usually recessed in the case, take something sharp and press it. You need to press it for about 10-15 seconds.

The router will reboot and the settings will be restored to factory defaults.

The second way: through the control panel

We need to enter the router settings. To do this, you need to connect to our Netis, open any browser and go to http://netis.cc, or 192.168.1.1. If you are asked for a username and password, specify them (you must remember them, as they are set by the user).

On the management page, click on the Advanced button to open advanced settings.

Then go to the System – Factory Settings tab and click on the Restore button.

A warning message will appear, click Ok.

Wait for the restore process to finish.

The router will be rebooted and if you connected via cable, the settings page will open.

After restoring the settings, to connect to Wi-Fi use the standard password, which is listed at the bottom of the router. The Wi-Fi network itself will also have a standard name.

I’ve shown you the example of Netis WF2411 model, but the Default button may be placed a bit differently. But it does not change anything, we do everything according to the instructions.
