TP-Link Archer C20i: Reviews, Review, Characteristics

Tp-Link Archer C20i is a new, stylish, dual-band and inexpensive router from Tp-Link. Most likely, this is the model that will be very popular among buyers in the near future. All because of the new band support. Tp-Link Archer C20i is able to broadcast Wi-Fi network at a frequency of 5 GHz, which means that it will be perfect for those who decided to move to the new range. However, it also broadcasts Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz.
This router broadcasts two Wi-Fi networks. Your devices that don’t support 5 GHz networks will be able to connect to 2.4 GHz. And new devices that have support for the new frequency will connect to it.
The advantage of 5GHz is that this frequency is practically not loaded, as now about 95% of all wi-fi networks work on the frequency of 2.4 GHz. And if there is no interference, then respectively the speed and stability of the connection will be much higher. More and more devices support Wi-Fi networks 5 GHz, and in the near future all will start to move to them. And if we take into account the price of Tp-Link Archer C20i, which is about 40 dollars, this model has all chances to become very popular. Plus, the Archer C20i has a lot of other advantages.
Tp-Link Archer C20i Review
The C20i looks very stylish and modern. It has matte plastic on the back and sides and glossy plastic on the front. Yes, it looks nice, but the front panel collects fingerprints very well, which spoil the router’s appearance a bit. And it will have to be wiped often. In the front there are blue indicators, and the company logo. On the right side there are buttons for power, Wi-Fi and WPS/Reset. And 1 USB connector. On the back, you’ll find WAN and LAN connectors, and a power jack.
The Tp-Link Archer C20i has no external antennas, they are built into the case. It stands very stable on the table due to the rubber feet. That is normal for such a price. You can’t hang it on the wall because of its vertical position.
As for the package, it is standard: router, power adapter, network cable, documentation and a disk with a utility for configuration.
Features

The rest of the characteristics of the Tp-Link Archer C20i are standard, I will not talk about them.
Does it cut the speed on wi-fi, and what is the range of the network?
As for the speed of the Internet on wi-fi, then everything is excellent here. Especially in the 5 GHz range. Under good conditions, you can even get 80-90 Mbps, judging by reviews. So the Tp-Link C20i does not cut the speed much.
As for the coverage of the Wi-Fi network, it is enough for a two-room apartment, a small house, or an office. Although, for the office, I would advise you to buy more serious devices. The range of the network in the 5 GHz range is a little less. But this is normal, such a feature of this frequency.
In terms of speed and coverage, I think that this router fully corresponds to its price.
Reviews of Tp-Link C20i
Since the router is relatively new, there are not many reviews on the Internet. But, those that are there are quite positive. Someone does not like the appearance, someone can not customize some function, and so on. That is, there are no specific disadvantages, you know how it happens, there are models that have clearly emphasized specific shortcomings. Here there is no such thing. Although, the model is still new, maybe something else will come out 🙂 .
Personally, I liked the router very much, and if you are just going to buy a router, then believe me, it is better to buy a dual-band, with support for wi-fi 5GHz, than to buy a new device in a year. And among those models that are currently on the market, Tp-Link Archer C20i will be a great buy. We can say that this is an inexpensive router, from the class of dual-band. And its power is definitely enough for home use.
And I think that the router should already have at least 1 USB connector. If you think you won’t need it, it’s not true. Connect a flash drive, make a shared access, and you will watch movies from your TV and other devices, very convenient. And the model C20i is perfect for this. And there should be no problems with online games, downloading torrents and watching online videos, as it happens on budget routers, when you connect several devices.
