TP-Link NC250 Cloud Camera: Review and Reviews

Recently I wrote a detailed instruction on setting up a cloud camera from TP-LINK, model NC250. After that, I used this camera for a few more days, and decided to make a separate page with a review, and reviews. Now we will take a closer look at the IP-camera TP-LINK NC250, I will tell you for what purposes is best to use it, what are the features and advantages of this model. And I’ll write what exactly I liked about this model and what I didn’t like.

TP-LINK company positions this camera as a solution for monitoring the house, office, employees, children, etc. In fact, that’s correct. Installing even one cloud camera like the TP-LINK NC250 will allow you to watch everything that happens in a certain room at any time, in real time. Even if you are in another country. All you need is an internet connection. Launch the application, and watch the broadcast from the camera. In the same way, you can watch, for example, a child in another room, or the workers in your store, cafe, etc. Or by installing this camera in the house, you will always have peace of mind that everything is in order there, and have not yet settled thieves 🙂 🙂

We must admit that such a device can be very useful in certain situations. Of course, IP cameras have been on the market for a long time, but when I tested the camera personally, it was like I discovered something new. There are so many interesting features.

The main features of the TP-LINK NC250 camera

Immediately I want to emphasize the main features of this camera, which I liked.

This is a cloud camera. What this means: you can right now type the query “IP camera setup” in a search engine, and open any article. You’ll be shocked at how much you have to learn and customize to access an IP camera over the internet. TP-LINK NC250 camera works via TP-LINK Cloud service. What it means: no IP settings or anything else. You install an application on your phone, register on tplinkcloud.com, and get access to the camera from anywhere you have internet.
Minimal wires + wi-fi signal amplification. The camera is connected to your router via wi-fi. To the camera itself only need to connect the power. By the way, there is an extension cord in the kit. Moreover, TP-LINK NC250 camera can work as a Wi-Fi network amplifier. That is, act as a repeater.
Good video quality. HD 720p, H.264 compression.
This camera is very cool “sees” at night. Even in complete darkness, everything can be seen very well. The manufacturer writes that night video surveillance up to 5.5 meters. I did not measure, but in the article at the link above, I showed what the picture turns out in total darkness.
The function of notification by e-mail, after detecting motion, or sound. This feature can be configured in the control panel of the camera. As soon as the camera detects motion or sound, it will immediately send a notification to your e-mail. And you will be able to go through the application, and see what is happening there.
There is a possibility of mounting on the wall or ceiling. I did not fix it myself, but the kit has everything you need.

A small review of TP-LINK NC250

The camera looks interesting, you’ll agree. See the photo at the top of the page. Almost the whole camera is made of white glossy plastic. It’s clear that nothing creaks, rattles, etc. Everything is clear here.

Thanks to the functional mount, the camera itself relative to the stand can be directed in almost any direction.

On the front panel there is a camera eye, a sensor (most likely light, the camera itself turns on the night mode), and it looks like a microphone hole. There is also an indicator light, which, by the way, can be disabled in the settings.

On the back panel there is a power connector, Ethernet port, and WPS/RESET button with an indicator.

As far as reviews are concerned, all hope is on you. Online, there are very few reviews of the TP-LINK NC250 camera. So, if you have a TP-LINK NC250 camera, make sure you write a few lines in the comments. You like it, you don’t like it, what you use it for.

I like the camera. For this price, a great solution for video surveillance. There is another model, cheaper and simpler – TP-LINK NC220. As an option, you can consider it.

I did not notice any special problems and shortcomings in this camera. Except that I would add rubber feet to the stand, and a little rework the proprietary program for PC, which is called TP-LINK Camera Control. I had video lags through this program, but through the phone everything is fine. Maybe it’s some kind of problem I have, I can’t say for sure. TP-LINK, it’s not that hard!
