Review and Reviews ABOUT TP-LINK Archer C20. Wi-Fi 5GHZ and USB Port Roter

Today we have a very successful router model for review – TP-LINK Archer C20. I have already tested this router in work, and I am ready to share my opinion about this model. Recently I wrote about a similar router TP-LINK Archer C20i. These are almost identical devices. The main differences are in the case, and the Archer C20 has external antennas. If you want to choose the best router for your home or apartment, for a good price, and with support for modern technologies, then Archer C20, or Archer C20i, is the ideal option. Now I will explain why.
At the moment, the price for these routers is about 40 dollars. For this money we get a router with enough power for an ordinary apartment or a house. What is very important, support for the new standard 802.11ac (5GHz), and the presence of a USB port. In the article how to choose a wi-fi router for home or apartment, I wrote that now it makes no sense to buy a router without support for wi-fi 5GHz and USB port. After a while, you will want to use the network at 5GHz (standard 802.11ac), and connect a flash drive (for example, to set up an FTP server, or file sharing), or a printer to your router.
Of course, if you don’t have a goal to save money, you can choose a more expensive model. But at the moment, the TP-LINK Archer C20 router is the best option for a home router. In the Archer C20i review, I wrote that after a while, these will be very popular router models. As soon as everyone starts moving to the new 802.11ac standard.
As for the performance of TP-LINK Archer C20, it will be quite enough for home tasks. I think there should be no problems with downloading files, watching videos and online games. From the pluses of Archer C20 I would like to emphasize 3G/4G modems support after installing the latest firmware. I’ve already written an instruction on how to configure TP-LINK Archer C20, everything is good in this respect. I liked that now, if there are problems with connecting to the Internet provider, the indicator “Internet” is lit orange.
From the minuses I would single out non-removable antennas (but, on dual-band routers to change antennas is not desirable), already by tradition – the lack of rubber feet, and I thought that the indicators on the front panel are too bright. Well and there is no possibility to hang the router on the wall (although the antennas are rotatable). This is not necessary for everyone, but pay attention when choosing.
TP-LINK Archer C20 review
Let’s start with the bottom of the router’s case. It is made of gray matte plastic. The antennas are also gray, as I wrote above – non-removable. The upper part of the router is covered with a cover made of dark blue plastic. It is glossy. And it is not just smooth plastic, it has an interesting structure, as if faceted. Like diamante. If you look at the router from different angles, it reflects light and changes its color. It looks interesting and not boring. Also, on the front panel we have the TP-LINK logo and indicators that are lit in blue color. The logo, by the way, is also unusual. It is not just drawn, but three-dimensional. It looks much better.
As for cooling, everything is fine here. The entire bottom and side panels are in small holes. Because of their shape, dust will not get inside the router.
As usual, all the buttons and ports are placed on the back of the router. TP-LINK Archer C20 has 4 LAN ports, 1 WAN, 1 USB port, and a power connector.
The buttons are: power on/off, WPS/Reset, and a button to disable the Wi-Fi network.
That’s the whole review. Short but informative 🙂
TP-LINK Archer C20 router reviews
I already wrote my review at the beginning of this article. I think this is the optimal option for a dual-band, home router. Judging by the reviews on the Internet, it works stably, Wi-Fi network “penetrates” far, the speed on Wi-Fi does not cut much. I have not noticed any problems in this regard. Well, and most importantly, there is support for wi-fi 5GHz and USB-port. I’m already familiar with some competitors of this model in terms of price and features, but I liked Archer C20 and Archer C20i the most. I will try to review other competitors in the near future. Perhaps my opinion will change.
