TP-Link AC750 RE210 SETING. StrengThening Wi-Fi Signal at a Frequency of 2.4ghz and 5Ghz

Today we are going to configure the TP-Link AC750 RE210 repeater. It is also a repeater, or Wi-Fi network amplifier. I have already written about configuring other repeater models from TP-Link, but RE210 is the most interesting of all the models I’ve had. In fact, very few users know about the existence of such devices as repeaters. And in the case when Wi-Fi network from the router catches not in all rooms, for some reason consider other routers as amplifiers. There are many routers that are able to work in repeater mode. But believe me, specially designed for this purpose, such as TP-Link AC750 RE210, will work much better and more stable. And the setup process will be much easier.
As for the RE210 model specifically, it is a dual-band repeater. It can amplify Wi-Fi network in two bands 2.4GHz and 5GHz at once. This is a state-of-the-art repeater. Even if you don’t have a dual-band router right now, believe me, you will have one soon, and the TP-Link AC750 RE210 will not become obsolete, and will be relevant for a long time to come. If you want to save a little money, and you don’t need an amplifier that can amplify the wireless network at 5GHz, then look at the TP-Link TL-WA850RE model, or devices from other manufacturers in this price segment.
Setting up these devices will take you a couple of minutes. Everything comes down to pressing one button on the router and on the repeater. In some cases, you may have to go into the settings of the amplifier, and connect to your network manually. Once set up, you’ll have one Wi-Fi network, amplified by the repeater. And your devices will automatically switch between networks without you even noticing it.
Installing the TP-Link AC750 RE210 Wi-Fi Repeater
If your router has a WPS button, and it most likely does, I advise you to configure the repeater with its help. We take our repeater, spread the antennas on the sides (if you have the RE210 model), and plug it in. It is very important to choose the right place to install the amplifier. For stable operation, it should be installed in a stable signal area of your main Wi-Fi network.
On your router, click on the WPS activation button. It looks different on different devices. So we press the WPS button on the router, go to TP-Link AC750 RE210 (which is already plugged in), and press the RE button on it. It is located on the side of the amplifier.
The WPS indicator (with arrows) will start blinking on the repeater. Wait a bit, one or both wi-fi indicators should light up. This means that the repeater is already strengthening the Wi-Fi signal in one or two bands.
That’s it, the installation of the repeater is complete. Check its operation. You can turn it off, and turn it on at another location. You won’t need to set it up again. If it sees the Wi-Fi network with which you have already set it up, it will automatically connect to it and start amplifying it.
Enter TP-Link AC750 RE210 repeater settings. Configuring manually
There are cases when you can not configure the repeater using the WPS button. Or, it connects only to the network at 2.4GHz. And the Wi-Fi network at 5GHz does not want to amplify. In this case, you can go to the control panel of our TP-Link AC750 RE210 and try to connect to the network manually. This method can be useful when you don’t have access to the router itself, but you know the password to the Wi-Fi network.
Turn on the repeater, and connect your computer to it (you can enter the settings from your mobile device). You can connect either by wi-fi or by cable (which comes with the kit).
Immediately after turning on our amplifier, it will start broadcasting a Wi-Fi network with a standard name (even two networks, on different frequencies). They are not password protected. Connect to one of the networks. Next, open a browser, and go to tplinkrepeater.net. You will be asked to enter your login and password. The factory ones are admin and admin. If you can’t enter the settings, see the detailed instructions on how to enter the Wi-Fi amplifier settings.
A wizard will immediately open, which will help us to connect to the Wi-Fi network to amplify it. Click “Next”.
Specify your region.
Next, the repeater will search for Wi-Fi networks in the 2.4GHz range. Highlight your network and press “Next”.
On the next step we need to specify the password of the Wi-Fi network we want to amplify.
The repeater will start searching for 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. If you have such a network, then connect to it by specifying the password as I showed above. And if you don’t have a 5GHz Wi-Fi network, check the box, as I showed on the screenshot below, and click “Next”.
Then press the “Finish” button.
The repeater will reboot, and it will start strengthening the Wi-Fi network.
And one more trick. With the LED button you can turn off all the indicators so that they don’t disturb you at night. Although, they do not shine very brightly.
