Return of the factory firmware to TP-Link WR741ND Ver.2 after DD-WRT or Open WRT

Good afternoon!

I have a router TP-Link WR741ND, which I once reflashed to DD-WRT or Open WRT exactly do not say.
I want to return to it factory firmware, I do not understand how to do it. When connecting the cable with the Internet, control shows that the Internet is, I connect the cable to the laptop, also lights up the lamp, but the Internet is not. Limited connection. Wi-Fi also does not give out and in the admin I do not know how to enter, standard methods do not work. What can be done with it, if at all?

Answer:

Good afternoon. It’s too bad you didn’t write what firmware you have specifically.

If you had a TP-Link WR741ND ver. 4, it could be restored according to the instructions on how to restore a Tp-Link router after a failed firmware. In any case, you don’t need to connect the internet. Connect only the router to your computer via cable, set the settings for obtaining IP and DNS automatically, and go to the control panel. You wrote that you can’t get into the settings. Have you tried the address 192.168.1.1? In any case, you need to go to the settings. Try resetting the settings. Unless, of course, the router has completely turned into a brick.

Restore factory firmware after DD-WRT on WR741ND

The instructions are strictly for TP-Link WR741ND ver.2. If you have a different model, you need a different firmware. Normal, downloaded from the official site will not work.

Attention! All do at your own risk.

There is always a risk of turning your router into a brick.

Try this: download this archive (this firmware is only for WR741ND ver. 1.x and ver. 2.x), and extract the .bin file with the firmware from it. Go to DD-WRT settings on your TP-Link WR741ND, and update the firmware. Here is a screenshot:

It should work.

I think you have DD-WRT and not Open WRT. If you still have Open WRT, you can go back there too, but you need to find a firmware for your TP-Link WR741ND ver.2 without boot. However, there are a lot of instructions on the Internet. Type in Google “return to native firmware after Open WRT for TP-Link WR741ND”.
