Internet speed drops when connecting through a router

Hello, when I connect the network cable through the router, the download speed from the Internet does not exceed 2 MB. When I connect directly to the network card, the speed is always maximum, about 10 Mbytes. I have two routers, and whichever of them I do not connect the speed is always lower than when I connect the wire directly to the computer. What could be the problem?

Answer

Hello. Not enough information. You have not written what kind of internet, what routers, how you checked the speed, and on what devices such a problem? Have you tried connecting other devices?

There can be many reasons why the speed drops when connecting through a router. Perhaps you just have outdated routers, that’s why the speed is so low. What does your ISP say on this wire? Or the router is not from the provider?
