Connection of the ZYXEL P660 EE modem to a USB computer and D-Link router

Hello. I’ll describe the problem in detail.

There is an ADSL modem zyxel p660ru3 ee. With the help of which the internet comes from the telephone cable to the
router D-Link DIR-300 NRU B5 . With the help of which it was possible to distribute the Internet from the modem via wi-fi.

Initially it worked like this: telephone cable into the modem, from the modem there was a cable from the ethernet socket into the router into the internet socket, the next cable from the LAN1 socket on the router was connected to a desktop computer.

Internet was on the computer, and also distributed from the router via Wi-Fi to other devices in the house.

The problem arose when the ethernet port on the modem failed. I had to use the USB port on the modem and use it to connect the Internet to the computer.

But now it is not clear how to distribute the Internet to other devices, as USB goes directly from the modem zyxel to a desktop computer, and the router D-Link turns out to be nothing to connect to, and therefore the distribution of the Internet is not possible?

Can you please tell me if it is possible to distribute the Internet in this situation?

Answer

Hello. I understand your problem. Theoretically it is possible. How is ZyXEL P660RU3 EE modem connected via USB to the computer detected in the system? I just have no experience with this modem. Attach below in the comments a screenshot from: “Control PanelNetwork and InternetNetwork Connections”. Where all adapters are displayed.
