ASUS Wi-Fi Go technology! How to set up and use?
I bought a motherboard asus rog z270g gaming, it comes with a Wi-Fi module, the so-called Wi-Fi Go! Model on the drivers like Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4A Wireless Network Adapter, in the box of course there was a disk, but I do not have sidirom. In search of scouring the Internet how to configure…But nothing sensible found. I have a question, this router, if it can be called so, can be used as a normal router? If so, can you describe the whole technology, how to connect, configure, etc. Thanks.
Answer
I haven’t used Wi-Fi Go! technology myself, I’m not familiar with it. But I have heard about it. There are a lot of possibilities there:
- You can organize a wi-fi hotspot. This is what you asked above. This adapter can act as a router. That is, to distribute the Internet to other devices. But there is nothing special about it. Basically, you can give out wi-fi from every computer with a regular Wi-Fi adapter, or laptop.
- Through Wi-Fi Go! you can control your computer from your smartphone or tablet. Use your mobile device as a remote control. On the same tablet, you can see the remote desktop of your computer. Or use your mobile device as a remote keyboard, or touchpad.
- The next useful feature is a DLNA server. You can stream movies, photos, and music to different devices on the network. To TVs and mobile devices.
- Fast file sharing between a wi-fi Go! enabled computer and mobile devices.
As I understand it, you need to install the wi-fi GO! utility on your computer. You can download it from the ASUS website, on the driver page for your motherboard. It looks like this:
And the “wi-fi GO! Remote” is installed on mobile devices.
