Without access to the Internet on the ASUS laptop with Windows 10

Hello. I have this problem – after turning on my laptop (Asus K50IJ Windows 10) Wi-Fi (adapter – Atheros AR9285 Wireless) constantly “falls off”. Hanging icon – no internet access. Here’s what I’m doing:

  1. I go into the adapter settings
  2. I go to IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  3. I enter the “left” IP address and subnet mask, apply everything and exit back out.
  4. Disconnect the adapter
  5. I go to properties and in the IP version 4 (TCP/IPv4) tab I select “get IP automatically”.
  6. I save everything and turn on wi-fi.

And only after all these manipulations Wi-Fi works without problems until the first shutdown or reboot. By the way – when the laptop comes out of “sleep”, the same problem(((

What can be done?

Answer

Hello. The first thing I would suggest would be to test working with a different Wi-Fi network. I wonder what the result would be.

Next, follow the tips I wrote about in the article, “Connectivity is limited” in Windows 10 over Wi-Fi and network cable. Namely, “Enable Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) compatibility mode for this network.”

Prevent disabling the Wi-Fi adapter to save power by following these instructions: /solving-problems-and-errors/the-internet-wi-fi-fi-in-windows-10-disappears-after-leaving-the-sleeping-mode/

If that doesn’t help, you need to experiment with the driver.
