An unstable Wi-Fi adapter on a PC works. The driver is not set correctly, code 31
Hello. Please help me to solve my problem. I have a desktop computer, I connected the Internet through the phone – through ADSL modem with Wi-Fi (simple modem D-Link black rectangular, which gives Vodafone). The master came, connected everything, on the phone and tablet the internet works without any problems, ie via wi-fi. Then I wanted the Internet to be on the desktop computer, I bought a Wi-Fi usb adapter HUAWEI WS151, inserted it into the usb, it found it, the connection was established, I entered the password and the Internet worked.
But after a while it started to crash, I had to pull out and insert the adapter every time (or on/off in the manager), but it was enough for a few minutes. Although, if I turn on the Internet distribution on my phone and connect to HAUWEI, everything works smoothly. I bought another Wi-Fi adapter, first a D-Link, then another, then changed to another D-Link, but every time I installed it, a yellow triangle appeared in the Manager, and in the properties the driver is not installed correctly and code 31 – whatever I did, what driver I didn’t install, in what sequence….
Recently accidentally removed the utility WS151, the Internet disappeared on the desktop computer, plug and play HUAWEI now is not installed, install the driver from the off. site, writes “the driver is not installed correctly and error 31”. Shit, the circle is closed. USB flash drives work in any slot without problems. Called D-Link’a support, they do not… and do not know. Please help (I have WIN 7 64).
Answer
Hello. I understand correctly, at the moment you need to solve the problem with installing the driver for the Wi-Fi adapter HUAWEI WS151, or some other? And when Wi-Fi on the PC will work at least from the access point on the phone, you will be able to solve the problem with unstable connection to the D-Link modem.
It seems to me that you already have a mess of drivers and adapters. You tried to install a driver for each adapter.
In any case, it may not help, but I advise you to reset the network settings according to these instructions.
Second important point, for the future. Always download drivers from official sites, for a specific adapter model and for Windows 7 x64.
In Device Manager, if you right-click on this Wi-Fi adapter (with error code 31), is there an option “Uninstall”? If there is, choose it. If the system asks if you want to uninstall drivers and programs – agree. If you succeed in uninstalling, then after restarting the computer you can install the driver again.
Also, after opening the properties of this adapter (which has an error), you can try to roll back the driver, if there is such an option.
Go to the uninstall menu of programs on your computer. Sort them by installation date and see if there are any programs from Wi-Fi adapters that you installed. If there are, uninstall them.
