On TP-Link TL-WR841ND only power indicator is on fire

Good day. I have the following situation: TP-Link TL-WR841ND router, when the router is turned on, only one light is on (power on) and that’s it, the rest do not work.

I connected the cable directly to the laptop, the Internet is there.

Please advise what the problem, thank you.

Answer

Good day. If it happened suddenly, you did not flash your TP-Link TL-WR841ND, did not change the settings, then it is definitely a hardware failure of the router itself. Something with the board. Perhaps with the power supply. It is hard to answer here. You need to disassemble, look, and diagnose.

First of all, do a factory reset.

If at the moment of flashing, it is possible that it is a software failure. It makes sense to try to restore your TP-Link TL-WR841ND according to the instructions: /tp-link/how-to-restore-the-tp-link-router-after-an-unsuccessful-firmware/

Basically, you can try to restore it anyway (according to the instructions). But I don’t think it will work. When only the power LED is on, there are two options: repair shop or buying a new router. But if you have a TL-WR841ND, I would advise the second option. Since the model is inexpensive, and whether it makes sense to repair it is debatable.
