Wi-Fi reconnecting at load

Good afternoon, I have a modem-router (D-Link) connected to the router TP-Link tl-wr841n, D-Link I have an old and junk, Wi-Fi works fine until I do not watch a video or download something, immediately goes reconnect to Wi-Fi and naturally fails download/upload video, can be a problem in the modem specifically (D-Link) or still a problem in the router?

In other Wi-Fi networks when I connect to no problems, only at home so.

Answer

Good day. As practice shows, such reconnection to wi-fi network is due to the fact that the router or modem does not withstand the load. As a rule, it hangs, and begins to work only after a reboot. And how do you? How does this reconnection happen? This is a very important point. Do you have this problem when you connect any devices, when you start watching videos or downloading something?

Too bad you didn’t write what kind of D-Link modem you have. I understand it is without wi-fi, and TL-WR841N is connected to give out internet via wi-fi. I don’t think you’re putting so much load that the TL-WR841N can’t handle it. Most likely it is the D-Link modem that gives up and “crashes”. But I can’t give you a precise answer. You need to test and check it. You can try to connect to D-Link via cable and create a good load. See the result.

On TP-Link you can follow the tips from the article: Internet drops on TP-Link TL-WR741ND (TL-WR741N) router.
