A squeak and stamping in the headphones after installing a WiFi router appeared

Hello, maybe you can help me to solve this problem. I live in the countryside, in a private house, used to be a simple router ADSL (without Wi-Fi) and when working on the PC no squeaks and “stomping” in the headphones was not heard, but recently purchased a Wi-Fi router (router) Netis DL4310 connected and it became impossible to sit in the headphones, there was a squeak and “stomping”, in general as a light bulb on this router flashes, also gives this squeak and “stomping” in the headphones.

Answer

Hello. I can hardly be of any help to you. This is due to the sigal that the router is emitting. If you are experiencing this, then most likely the router is very close to the headphones. Since this problem is not very common. And I haven’t noticed this problem with myself. Maybe it depends on the headphones (some are sensitive to Wi-Fi signal and some are not).

At the moment when the wi-fi indicator lights up on the router, data transfer is in progress. And at this moment there is a beeping and other noise in the headphones.

What can be done in your case:

  • Move the router away from the computer. I assume that this is not possible because of the PC connected via cable. You can move the router as far away as possible to check. If there is no interference in the headphones, then buy a longer network cable for the PC, or a wi-fi receiver.
  • Disable wi-fi network broadcasting. So that the router doesn’t give out wireless network. If you don’t need it (judging by the fact that there used to be a modem without wi-fi).
  • To try different headphones. Maybe it’s some highly sensitive specimen you have. Maybe other headphones won’t react as much to interference from the router.

Try it. You can write in the comments.
