Magic Remote an RM400 and Android console

Hello. Thank you for being here. Good health to you! You helped me once great, and now I’m asking for help)))))

The question is this. Everyone probably knows Magic Remote for LG smart TVs. For example, the model AN RM400.Tell me, can the remote befriend Android set-top box? Minix Neo U1. With the standard air remote set-top box everything works fine. Set-top box connected to the TV LG 42LA644V via HDMI MHL. The set-top box itself is excellent and packed with all the technology. I would like to work through the Magic Remote as well as with the standard remote (turn the set-top box off, move the cursor, exit to the desktop and other android actions).

Thank you in advance for the answer.

Answer

Hello. I’m sure it’s impossible to connect the Magic Remote from LG to an Android set-top box. Even if the set-top box will see the remote and by some miracle connect to it (I think it needs a password), this remote will not work on Android. It works only with LG TVs. And then not with all models.

TV manufacturers think about the limitations of compatibility with third-party devices. I think the Magic Remote is no exception.

I haven’t tested it, of course. I don’t have such a remote. But for the sake of interest I searched for information on the Internet. There are these questions. People tried to connect Magic Remote to Android, but no one succeeded.

So the branded remote control is only for LG TVs, and on Android set-top boxes will have to use universal air remote control. Or keyboards with a touchpad. It goes something like this.
