The speed of receiving WiFi at a frequency of 5 GHz fell. On the phone through the Innbox E70 router

Good afternoon. Phone huawei honor 8 (was samsung galaxy s4) the problem is the same on the phones. The essence is as follows: there is a router Innbox E70 from Vodafone. Speed tariff – 100 Mbit/s. At first on all devices (phones, laptops) at 5 GHz the speed was not less than 95 Mbit/s. Two months pass and the speed drops colossally on the phone to 2-4 Mbps.

I have been suffering for months. I reset the settings, and changed channels, and even called tech support, but no results. On the phone on frequency 5 GHz all the same download speed 0,02 – 0,3 Mbit/s….. Can you please tell me what can be done?

P.S. At work too there is 5 GHz and the speed corresponds to the tariff when measuring and connecting from the same phone.

Answer

Good afternoon. Very important point: what about the speed of connection via Wi-Fi on other devices (on the same laptop) in the 5 GHz band, in the 2.4 GHz band and via cable from the router? You can also measure the speed without the Innbox E70 router, but by connecting the cable directly to the computer and configuring the connection to Vodafone.

Perhaps it is some kind of malfunction at the provider. Although, if a specialist from the provider came, he would determine the cause of low speed.

If the speed drops only in the 5 GHz range and on all devices, and resetting and changing some parameters does not give any result, it is quite possible that it is a failure of Innbox E70.
