Low Internet speed on Smart TV LG 32LJ600U

Hello!

To solve the problem, all devices are connected to the router via wire. The router is a standard one from Vodafone. Speedtest.net in the TV browser shows 10-12 Mbit/s (the provider gives 60 Mbit/s). I could assume that the twisted pair and (or) the Router is to blame somewhere. But then why do I immediately take the wire and connect it to the Netbook and Speedtest speed is no lower than 30 Mbps?

In turn, why is the speed of the Netbook 30 Mbps on the wire? Checked on another system, gives no less than 70 Mbit (and sometimes 90). Netbook checked in two apartments with the same tariff plan.

Thanks in advance for the answer.

Answer

Hello. I think this is not a problem, but a feature of devices, software, etc.

The connection speed can vary a lot depending on the performance of the network adapter and the rest of the hardware. This is if you compare a netbook and a desktop computer. Also, the speed can be affected by the system itself, installed programs, running processes, some network settings, etc. Perhaps for your netbook 30 Mbps is the maximum it can do.

It’s exactly the same story with LG TV. Only there it’s even more complicated. SMART TV system is closed, there are practically no settings. And besides, maybe at the moment of speed measurement the TV is downloading something in parallel. Or other devices. This also affects the connection speed. All I can advise is to update the firmware of the TV.

And on a netbook you can try to experiment with the settings of the network card. For example, in Device Manager, in the properties of the network card to set “100 Mbps Full Duplex” (or another option) for the parameter “speed & duplex”.

speed & duplex

I can’t guarantee that this will increase speed, but you can try.
