Poor speed for unloading to the Internet via router

Hello. I bought a router. I connected it, set it up. Everything’s fine. If not for one thing. The speed of uploading files (from my computer to the Internet) is less than 100 Kbps (sometimes 20 Kbps). Upload speed (from the Internet to my computer) is excellent as the provider promises (100 Mb/s).

If I plug the Internet wire directly into my computer (without a router), everything is fine and downloads and uploads as it should. The provider can’t say anything, they don’t see routers and can’t advise anything – “if everything is OK directly, then the problem is not in us”. The wire from the router to the computer changed – did not help … SAVE pliiiiiz… I work with video – always need to load files of more than 4GB … and here one picture takes 5-7 minutes… THANK YOU

Hello. Well, you should at least write the model of the router. If when you connect the cable directly to the computer the upload speed is normal, then the problem is really not on the ISP side (most likely). Such a low upload speed when checking via Speedtest?

You need to understand what the cause is. It’s in the router or in the computer. To do this, connect another computer to the router (preferably through the same cable) and check the speed. Maybe someone has a laptop to borrow. If you can’t connect via cable, check the speed on any device on wi-fi. I think it will clarify a lot of things.

Do you have a very long cable from the router to your computer? Did you connect the cable to different LAN ports on the router?

I would also update the router firmware, do a factory reset and set it up again.

Clarify your question, check the upload speed on another device and we will think further.
