Organization of WiFi Bridge for viewing IPTV

Hi, first of all I will describe the essence of the idea. There is an IPTV set-top box from Vodafone and Huawei equipment (also Vodafone). Since the set-top box works on Ethernet cable, and thrown on the floor wires are wildly annoying, in my head came the idea to organize a channel through a Wi-Fi bridge. In the port for iptv on Huawei plugged Zyxel keenetic lite II (on zyxel in lan1), the device itself configured in access point mode.

The second Zyxel’e keenetic lite III configured in adapter mode, and already connected the set-top box to it. So, the set-top box does not receive ip address by DHCP, although if you first connect the set-top box wire to the first Zyxel, the set-top box receives ip address, and then switch the wire to the second Zyxel (with the received ip address) then the set-top box continues to work. What are your thoughts on why DHCP through Wi-Fi bridge is not working?

Answer

Hi. I wish I had the opportunity to check all this as I don’t have such equipment.

If the first Zyxel Keenetic Lite II is configured as an access point and the second Zyxel Keenetic Lite III receives the signal as an adapter, then everything should work. It’s a strange situation with cable switching.

Or maybe it makes sense to try to configure the second Zyxel Keenetic in wireless bridge mode?

I rarely deal with IPTV setup and I’m not very familiar with all the subtleties. It is difficult to give any specific advice.
